Privacy policy

This policy covers Vitalsoft Phonebook, the private phone directory described at https://www.vitalsoft.com/phonebook/. It was last updated on 7 October 2026.

Google data we access

When you authorize the app, it requests one Google OAuth scope: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/contacts.readonly. With that scope it reads contact names and phone numbers from the Google account that granted access. It does not create, edit, or delete contacts, and it does not read email, calendar, files, or any other Google data.

How we use it

Names and phone numbers are used only to label incoming calls and to search the directory from Vital's office phones. The app is limited to that use. Contact data is not used for advertising, credit decisions, or to train a model, and it is not sold.

Where it is stored

The directory is cached in memory on Vital's phone system so the phones can look names up without calling Google on every ring. The cache is refreshed from Google about every ten minutes and is dropped when that service stops. The OAuth refresh token that lets the directory keep updating is stored on the same phone system. Contact data is not copied to any other service.

Who can see it

Vital's office phones query the directory. We do not share Google contact data with third parties, except as needed to display a name on those phones. The phone system is not offered as a service to anyone outside Vital.

Revoking access

You can disconnect the app at any time from Google Account permissions. After you revoke it, the phone system can no longer refresh the directory. The in-memory cache is discarded the next time that service restarts.
